Primary goal
Goal: Improve metrics like AOV, retention, and profitability through better upsell/cross-sell execution following Brittle-Brittle's recent acquisition by private equity, with a focus on sustainable, repeatable revenue growth. This proposal follows UpsellPlus's Food & Beverage revenue playbook, prioritizing units per transaction, flavor discovery, and repeat purchase behavior over aggressive discounting.
Current State
At the moment, Brittle-Brittle's site offers single-flavor tubs, snack bags, and gift bundles that customers browse and add to cart manually, with no automated upsell, cross-sell, subscription, or post-purchase flows in place to increase order value or repeat purchases.
Recommended revenue expansion initiatives
Flavor Discovery: Build Your Own Brittle Box
Increase flavor exploration and future repeat purchases by letting customers combine additional flavors into their order.
Why? Per UpsellPlus's Food & Beverage playbook, taste curiosity drives expansion across SKUs, and a shopper browsing one flavor is a strong candidate to try one or two more without a separate purchase decision.
Strategy: Show a Mix & Match offer on flagship PDPs (Gourmet Peanut Brittle, Mixed Nut Brittle) pulling from the Just Because snack-size and New Flavors collections, letting customers build a personalized 3-4 flavor box.

Size Upgrade Nudge
Increase units per transaction by encouraging customers to size up rather than add a separate item.
Why? Brittle-Brittle already sells the same flavors across multiple sizes (5 oz. bag, 12 oz. box, 36 oz. tub, and 17 lb. bulk), so a small increase in basket size can come from stocking up rather than persuading customers to add a second product — this is one of the highest-leverage plays for a consumable brand.
Strategy: On the PDP and in-cart, surface a one-click "step up" nudge (e.g. 12 oz. → 36 oz., or add the 2-Pack Tub) showing the per-ounce savings, instead of only prompting a second, unrelated SKU.

"Complete the Gift" Post-Purchase Offer
Increase post-purchase AOV by recommending a complementary bundle immediately after checkout.
Why? Per the Food & Beverage playbook, consumables support low-friction impulse purchasing after checkout, and the customer has just committed to a purchase, making this a low-friction moment to add a second gift-ready bundle for another recipient.
Strategy: Show 1-2 post-purchase offers based on the flavor purchased, such as the Sweet Heat Duo or the 6 Flavors One Party Pack, discounted for immediate add-on.

Threshold Unlock: Cart Drawer Rewards Bar
Increase AOV efficiently by rewarding customers for crossing a cart value threshold.
Why? Small consumable add-ons convert well near shipping or gift thresholds, and the cart drawer is a high-intent moment where customers have already shown purchase intent.
Strategy: Add a Rewards Bar with tiers (e.g. free shipping, a free snack-size bag, or a branded glass) alongside cross-sell recommendations for bundles.

Subscribe & Save Replenishment Upsell
Increase repeat purchase rate and customer lifetime value by turning one-time buyers into subscribers.
Why? Per the Food & Beverage playbook, subscriptions should be positioned around convenience and consistency rather than discounts. Brittle has a natural repurchase cycle, and subscription revenue is especially valuable to a newly PE-backed brand focused on predictable growth.
Strategy: Create subscription-based products for best-selling tubs and snack bags, then introduce a Subscribe & Save option across the PDP and cart. Position the subscription around the convenience of always having Brittle on hand

Expected business outcomes
- Flavor Discovery: Build Your Own Brittle Box — Flavor attach rate
- Size Upgrade Nudge — Units per transaction
- "Complete the Gift" Post-Purchase Offer — Post-purchase conversion rate
- Threshold Unlock: Cart Drawer Rewards Bar — Orders crossing threshold
- Subscribe & Save Replenishment Upsell — Repeat purchase rate
What we do NOT recommend
Offering too many products within each section.
Showing random cross-category recommendations unrelated to brittle, toffee, or gifting.
Aggressive discount-dependent framing that trains customers to wait for promotions.
Forcing large bulk purchases instead of simple, incremental size upgrades.
