Lock Fitter
support@upsellplus.com
Primary goal
Security hardware is a harder category to upsell in — purchases are safety-critical, finish-matched, and often technical. This proposal skips generic cross-sell tactics and instead formalizes what Lock Fitter is already doing informally (extra-key pricing, "buy more save more" messaging, free delivery threshold), plus adds finish-matched bundling and guarantee-linked maintenance cross-sell.
Current State
Lock Fitter already has strong building blocks: tiered extra-key pricing on lock PDPs, a "buy more, save more" homepage banner, a free UK delivery threshold at £150, and a 20-year guarantee on Sweet door furniture. None of these are fully surfaced as active cart or post-purchase mechanics yet.
Recommended revenue expansion initiatives
Extra Keys, Amplified
Increase extra-key attach rate by surfacing an offer you already have, at more points in the journey.
Your lock PDPs already have tiered extra-key pricing (2 for £20 each, 4 for £15 "best deal", 5 "most popular") — but it's a dropdown that's easy to skip. Show the same offer again in the cart drawer and on the order confirmation page, since forgetting spare keys today means a second full-price order later, plus re-registering Key Control.

Match Your Door Furniture
Increase units per order by cross-selling finish-matched hardware, not random accessories.
Door hardware buyers are picky about mismatched metal finishes on the same door. When a lock or handle is added, show the matching letterplate, knocker, and escutcheon in the same finish (Chrome, Black, Rose Gold) as a "complete your door" set, not a generic "customers also bought" widget.

Multi-Door Keyed-Alike Bundle
Turn a homepage message into an actual cart mechanic for landlords and installers.
You already advertise "buy more, save more" and free keyed-alike on multiple lock orders on the homepage, but it isn't reflected anywhere in the cart. Add a clear quantity nudge on lock PDPs and in cart — "add a 2nd lock and both are keyed alike, free" — for anyone ordering the same lock for multiple doors.

Protect the Guarantee: Maintenance Cross-Sell
Turn a real product requirement into a natural, low-pressure add-on.
Your Sweet hardware guarantee requires specific care to stay valid, and lock lubricant keeps keys turning smoothly. Cross-sell Lock Lubricant at checkout and post-purchase framed around "protect your guarantee," not as a generic accessory — it's a real reason to buy, not a hard sell.

Free Delivery Threshold Bar
Turn a static banner into an active nudge to add one more item.
You already advertise free UK delivery over £150 in a banner, but it isn't shown in the cart itself. Add a progress bar in the cart drawer ("Add £12 more for free delivery") that suggests exactly the cheap, relevant items above — a spare key, lubricant, or letterplate — to close the gap.

Expected business outcomes
- Extra Keys, Amplified — Extra-keys attach rate
- Match Your Door Furniture — Units per transaction
- Multi-Door Keyed-Alike Bundle — Multi-lock order rate
- Protect the Guarantee: Maintenance Cross-Sell — Post-purchase conversion rate
- Free Delivery Threshold Bar — Orders crossing free-delivery threshold
What we do NOT recommend
Random cross-category suggestions — finish mismatches are a dealbreaker in this category.
Recommending a different lock or handle than the one already chosen — security products aren't interchangeable.
Heavy reliance on blanket discount codes instead of value-add bundling.
